After graduating from Boston University, I knew it would be hard to leave New England, with its rich history and cultural opportunities and, of course, its proximity to New York City, where I have what I like to call "my country home," a sublet right in the heart of Chelsea. Recently unceremoniously let go by my employer after 30 years in a management position in health care marketing, communications, fundraising and public affairs, I'm looking for new opportunities in public relations and marketing and have actually reinvented myself as a theater reviewer and feature writer at examiner.com/Hartford covering arts in Connecticut, western Massachusetts and New York City.

I hope New York City has been good to you! I just had to give up my NYC apartment at the corner of 8th and 15th in Manhattan and I sure do miss it.So I am back to being based full-time in Connecticut, though I get into the City frequently since I volunteer as an usher at most of the nonprofit theaters there. In fact, heading down to Classic Stage Company in just a few hours. Have a great year!

Congratulations on your retirement. Loved the photo of your home office as well as your travels. Good to see your son back home after all of his travels. Best wishes for a great holiday season!

I met a family named Kummer in Middletown, Connecticut many years ago, and of course whenever I would see them (or think about them now) I would always remember Randy.   The family claimed that they had no relatives in Pennsylvania, but that didn't stop memories of Randy to pop into my brain.  May he rest in peace~

Such  a lovely person. Always had a welcome smile of recognition if I ever ran into her on one of my trips to Butler! Always brighteed the sometimes bittersweet homecomings!

Thank you for sharing this very sad information. I know what a strong, sturdy family Coleen and the three men in her life had created. She and her sons will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and I, of course, will reach out to her. I hope that you also are doing well and enjoying the snow-free winter of Tucson.

Jim was a sweet genuine low-key kinda guy who I first met in elementary school and got to know better in Cib Scouts.  He will always be alive in a funny memory I maintain from our younger years--one which regularly pops back into my head as I encounter similar albeit much more complicated situations in my adult life. Thanks!

The original wild and crazy guy! Even in high school you had no clue what he was going to say next! But you would always laugh OR shake your head and roll your eyes. And nothing as far as I could tell would ever stop him! I am pleased to learn that he had so many adventures that could fill several people's lives. And to achieve the time-honored status of cantankerous curmudgeon is the genuine fulfillment of Hinch's life.  Of course he wouldn't have it any other way,

Growing up just up the hill on McQuistion Road from Dee and Debbie's home, the twins were a consistent presence in my young life.  My sincere sympathies are extended to Debbie and all of Dee's family and friends.

It was upsetting to learn that Paul had died so soon after graduation just as all the war protests were going on and the incident at Kent State had occurred around the same time.  It was quite surreal a time particularly knowing several Butler guys who had died in the war and now here was someone from my graduating class.

Taken one hot day last summer at the Progressive Insurance booth at a New York street fair for a "Progressive People" collection on their website. I look at this photo and (!shudder!) see my mother! Help!
